Job Description:
Cloudetica Solutions is looking for a detail‑oriented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust testing strategies for our AWS‑hosted web applications. In this casual, project‑by‑project role, you’ll combine manual and automated testing approaches spanning UI, API, performance, and security to ensure we deliver reliable, high‑quality software. You’ll collaborate tightly with Fullstack engineers, UX/UI Designers, and Project Managers to catch defects early and uphold our standards for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

· Test Strategy & Planning: Craft detailed test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on functional specs and user stories.

· Manual Testing: Execute functional, regression, exploratory, and usability tests across front‑end interfaces and backend services.

· Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright and cover end‑to‑end workflows, component/unit tests, and API tests.

· Performance & Load Testing: Design and run performance, load, and stress tests (e.g., with JMeter or Gatling), then analyze results to pinpoint bottlenecks.

· CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI pipelines and help maintain ephemeral test environments.

· Defect Tracking & Reporting: Log, prioritize, and track issues in Jira (or similar), providing clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.

· Collaboration & Validation: Work with developers and stakeholders to reproduce bugs, clarify requirements, and verify fixes.

· Quality Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Define QA metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect density), monitor trends, and recommend process refinements.

Qualifications:

Required:

· Senior professional experience as a Software QA Engineer or similar role.

· Hands‑on expertise with test automation frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright).

· Proficient scripting skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java for writing and debugging test code.

· Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience using API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.).

· Familiarity integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

· Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA best practices.

· Strong analytical thinking and clear, proactive communication in a remote environment.

Preferred:

· AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

· ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or equivalent).

· Experience with performance and load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).

· Basic familiarity with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3) and testing in cloud contexts.

· Experience containerizing test environments with Docker.

· Awareness of security testing principles (OWASP Top 10, penetration test basics).

Format of Work:

Fully remote, casual/part-time, project-based role.
