SUMMARY:

The successful candidate of a Senior Mechanical Field Applications Engineer will be based in Seoul and will provide technical support to key customers in South Korea working closely with our electrical and software engineers and integrating our force sensing products into customer’s devices such as Laptop, Mobile phones, Automotive steering wheels & smart surfaces, Fitness Trackers, and Industrial display panels, etc.

He/she will also assist sales and marketing with product promotion and liaise with development and product application engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop an extensive knowledge of the company’s force sensor product portfolio, providing world-class applications support to our customers
• Technical applications support to both customers evaluating our products and internal sales personnel
• Develop close relationship with the customer and coordinate activities with the sales/marketing team
• Integrate both force and other types of sensing together into customer’s products through mechanical design, finite element analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on lab work to identify and resolve issues as well as tuning to optimize products on reference designs.
• Ability to travel to design locations for product training as well as the customer for onsite support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Creative problem solving in designing electro-mechanical assemblies from concept to fabrication
• Working knowledge of various fabrication methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, 3D printing, sheet metal stamping, and assembly techniques for consumer, automotive, and industrial products
• Excellent skill in 3D CAD modeling and manipulation, as well as finite element analysis (FEA)
• Experience working with SolidWorks surfaces or equivalent
• Good understanding of materials and structural mechanics
• Working knowledge of electronics and circuits
• 3+ years of relevant work experience designing real world products
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Customer interface: demonstrated success in resolving customer technical issues
• Team player
• Self-motivated
• Ability to travel

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanics Engineering
• At least 3 years minimum mechanical design experience of Smartphone or other IT devices design.
