Job Title: Prep School Teacher

Reports to: Assistant Principal

Position type: Full-time position

Summary of the Position:

Our founding Junior School teachers are a core part of Badminton Korea. They make the education of their pupils their first concern and commit to do whatever it takes to help each child achieve their full potential. Ultimately, they will provide a safe and secure environment in which students thrive. This will involve recording observations, summarising achievements and liaising with parents, staff and other educational professionals ensuring the school’s policies, visions and values are followed.

Preferred Qualifications, Experience and Qualities:

· Teaching qualification or QTS

· Bachelor’s degree

· Relevant teaching experience (although newly qualified teachers will be considered)

· Experience of teaching in the UK or a British international school (preferred)

General Responsibilities

It is the teacher’s responsibility to ensure that the following takes place:

  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of students;
  • To create an atmosphere in which the pupils can learn and to motivate and stimulate them to develop their potential academically, creatively and socially;
  • To ensure that the classroom is a safe, well-resourced and stimulating environment in which the pupils are able to learn effectively;
  • To undertake other duties assigned by the SLT or School Principal.
  • To be informed about the aims and curriculum of the area in which they teach
  • To ensure that the needs of al students are catered for and met through a delivery of adaptive teaching
  • To co-operate and support other staff members both within the curriculum and as colleagues;
  • To liaise with colleagues about the needs and progress of pupils;
  • To keep accurate, complete records of the progress of each student.
  • To attend all organised in-service training days;
  • To be available for all parent‐teacher conferences.
  • To share appropriate information regarding student progress with parents appropriately
  • To ensure that work is marked regularly and follows the Marking Policy;
  • To undertake break time, lunch time and after school duties as required;
  • To develop a good working knowledge of relevant School policies.

· To attend all relevant meetings, including planning meetings.

· To keep informed of all factors relevant to each student.

· To be familiar with new developments and methods in the teaching of their teaching field.

· To ensure appropriate behaviour of students in class and around the school.

· To create a stimulating and inviting classroom environment in which the children experience the joy of learning
