About The Job

Qualcomm Technologies is seeking an experienced Substrate/PCB SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering) engineer to join our team.

The candidate should possess expertise in terms of Substrate/PCB semiconductor manufacturing processes, tests and quality controls in the production line.

Excellent English oral and written communication skills are vital to this role since the candidate will work closely with multiple stakeholders from various departments internally and suppliers across different global locations. The role requires periodic travel to suppliers and other company locations.

The candidate also take the responsibility to make sure the Substrate/PCB suppliers can meet the requirements define by Qualcomm from development stage and drive the continuous improvement in the mass production stage.

Key responsibilities

• Working with package development engineering team and supplier sourcing team on the supplier selection process
• Risk assessment and qualification for substrate/PCB suppliers
• Working with engineering team to initiate and define Critical to Quality parameters and acceptance criteria.
• Process audit and monitoring manufacturing processes for improvement
• Leading for quality problem solving and yield improvement for the Substrate/PCB line issues
• Proactive quality monitoring set up at supplier sites for the purchased material in supplier factories.
• Analyze defect trends, defect modeling and lead continuous improvement programs with suppliers.
• Serve as primary escalation point for supplier related quality issues, hereunder driving actions plans for resolution.
• Support change management processes for supplier-initiated changes

Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, or other relevant fields
• At least 3 years of hand-on working experience in the high-volume Substrate/PCB industry experience; especially for Automotive (Electronics) is required.
• Understanding of cleanroom environment, ESD control
• Familiar with quality standards such as IATF16949, ISO16262, VDA 6.3, and frequently used quality tools such as DOE, APQP, PPAP, SA, SPC, FMEA, SPC, 8D & Six Sigma
• Rich experience of handling internal, external and customer quality audit from Automotive group of companies.
• Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to solve quality problems and meet customer requirements and satisfaction.
• Fluent in English (oral and written)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.

OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
